Homeland Security Jobs
Homeland security job leads and employment research resources
for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and its divisions
are listed below. Under the Homeland Security Act of 2002, several
Federal government agencies or one or more of their divisions officially
moved under the DHS. To search and apply for homeland security
jobs with the DHS or its divisions, you'd do so through the appropriate
agencies or USAJobs listed below. Homeland security jobs include
entry-level, internship, contract and consulting opportunities,
and fall under one or more of the following DHS directorates.
- Information Analysis and Infrastructure Protection
- Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Countermeasures
- Border and Transportation Security
- Emergency Preparedness and Response
But homeland security jobs are not just in government or only
with the DHS and its divisions. Several Federal and state government
agencies, and many private-sector employers are involved in homeland
security to some degree (as we all must be from now on). In turn,
many government agencies and private-sector employers seek workers
who have or are eligible to obtain a security clearance, especially
those working in information technology.
So, we've included commercial job banks that specifically offer
government or private-sector jobs requiring security clearances.
To cover the gamut, we've also included popular commercial job
banks that offer government jobs among those in the private sector.
See Job Banks for
a wider range of commercial and government job banks.
Did you know that qualified, ex-military members are entitled
to veteran's
preference in hiring and retention for government jobs, including
homeland security jobs?
Note: Some
of the government agencies listed below are still making organizational
changes under the Homeland Security Act, including to their Web
sites. Please report a "bad link" to us by
and we'll fix it right away. We don't sell, give away
or even keep email addresses.

DHS.

for landing government jobs. See the special section for homeland
security jobs. It's important to follow Uncle Sam's application

likely scams.
