Salary History Example
This salary history example states exact starting and ending salaries
for each job, rounded to the nearest whole number.
Although this salary history example states exact figures, ballpark
ranges will do, unless an employer specifically requests that you
provide exact figures. Still, rounding figures up or down to the
nearest whole number is exact enough.
However, it's a good idea to resist the urge to
"beef up" your salary history, in an attempt to get a
raise for a new job you're trying to land.
Be aware that, during employment
background checks, employers with whom you're interviewing
might double-check your earnings with your former employers.
Besides, you might inadvertently price yourself out of contention
for a new job, before you even get a chance to sell yourself enough
to land the raise you want.
