Resume Template 8
Resume Template 8 is in a scannable, technical format.
In this case, it's essentially a combination format with a Skills section.
But you can easily convert any of the other resume templates into a technical
resume template, by inserting a Skills section near the top or using the Summary
section to highlight your technical skills. See Resume
Formats for more information about formats.
You may download this technical resume template for free and modify it for personal
use. It's an RTF file, which is compatible with most word processors (such as
Microsoft® Word) and safe to download.
But first, please read the Important notice below. It includes
the download link.
This technical resume template has the headings listed above the sections. If
you'd prefer one that has the headings listed to the left of the sections, see Resume
Template 4. Refer to Resume Templates for
more formats and styles you may download.
The resume template format (line spacing, margins, fonts, etc.) displayed below
is a little different from the download version. That's because Web browsers
and word processors display pages in different ways. The download version is
better formatted.
If you copy and paste this resume template from your screen instead of downloading
it, the format might not stay intact. That's because copying picks up background
Web-page formatting that might not be understood by the software application
into which you paste it.

| OBJECTIVE
[This resume template section is often omitted in modern resumes.
Whether or not to include it is up to you. But it might be better
to start your resume with what you can do for employers, verses implying
what they can do to help you meet your objective. Delete this section
from the resume template if you don't use it. Otherwise, describe
your career goal in one to three brief sentences. For specific job
openings, tailor your objective (and your entire technical resume)
to closely match each job description without embellishing.]
SUMMARY
[Summarize your most important qualifications in a few sentences.
Alternately, highlight them in the bullet (•) list below, one
per bullet. (Ideally, summarize here, then highlight specifics in
the bullet list.) If you're applying for a specific job, tailor them
to the requirements in the job description, as closely as possible
without embellishing. Incorporate action
words and industry-standard keywords.
If needed, rename this section to better fit what you write, such
as Profile, Qualifications or Background.]
SKILLS
[Summarize your most important technical skills, certifications
or both. Alternately, highlight them in the bullet lists below. (Ideally,
summarize here, then highlight specifics in the bullet lists.) If
you're applying for a specific technical job, tailor this section
to match the job description. Incorporate action
words and industry-standard keywords.]

this whole section to just below the Skills section; for example,
if you're fresh out of school with little career work experience.]
- If you've earned certifications or completed special technical
training instead of a college degree, delete this part of the education
section and use the one below.

[Optional brief description]
- [List certifications or technical training credentials you've
earned, in addition to your college degree if you have one.]
- [But if you've highlighted certifications or technical training
credentials in a previous section, don't simply repeat same here.
Instead, use this part of the education section to provide details
or just delete it.]
- [Rename this section as appropriate.]
[EXTRA]
[Optional extra section for what you think is important to emphasize;
for example, relevant military duty, awards or membership in career-related
professional organizations. (Personal hobbies and interests are no
longer included in U.S. resumes, because they have too-often given
the wrong impression.) If this section is more important than another,
move it up in your resume. Delete this section from the resume template
if you don't use it.]
REFERENCES
References available on request. [This resume template section is
often omitted in modern resumes. Employers now assume that you'll
provide references when asked. If you want to keep it anyway, just
delete this bracketed text.] |
